Test Issues analyst

Location: Manchester/Hybrid

Salary: Negotiable

Advantage Resourcing are recruiting for a Test Issues Analyst on behalf of a Smart meter telecommunications company. A successful candidate would be able to hit the ground running with What is causing issues and helping resolve them as well as experience within Defect Management.

Role

The role is to perform assurance of the defect management process across the Test Environments (PIT, SIT and UIT) ensuring all parties are following the Testing Issues Resolution Process (TIRP) in a timely and effective manner.

This includes:

The management of Testing Issues (Defects and Tickets) resolution timescale or the approach to resolution itself
Collaborate with appropriate parties on the implementation of 'Shift Left' approach, ensuring defects are found in early test cycles
Lead Defect Review Meetings for issues found in PIT, highlighting areas of weakness in the solution to the relevant SME
Provide support and guidance to Testing Participants with Testing Issues and processes as required.
Analysis of Testing Issue data to support the production of test reports on individual and collective/common issues
Engage service providers for updates to Testing Issues and ensuring that progress and change in this area is properly and promptly documented
To lead on escalations over complex issues and implement actions leading to resolution of these records
To collaborate on identification of the source of problems for the issues or defect raised from Test Automation activity and propose an effective quality solution
Using the appropriate data analytics tool(s), customize, build and produce different test reports for each test environment, highlighting trend analysis, test and operational impacts
To identify process inefficiency and implement required changes, via the continuous improvement process and to improve the testing standard/system quality. Updating work instructions as required
To facilitate and implement sound professional defect management practices and the adoption of CMMI standards
To monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for Service Providers and customers in respect to the Testing Issues Resolutions Process
To provide assurance and oversight of defect resolution on Defect Review Meetings
To provide subject matter expertise to senior stakeholders across the business teams as required
To host, present and capture collaboration of the industry partners at energy industry forums What you'll be doing

Manage and assure the defect management process as prescribed in the TIRP
Manage queries/escalations received to the Testing Issues mailbox.
Monitor and report on Key performance Indicators (KPI) across UIT environment
Ensure all testing issues are progressed, investigated, and managed towards closure
Produce test reports to show issue resolution activity against target timescales, in accordance with the requirements of the Smart Energy Code and in any such manner as directed by the Testing Issues Manager
Deputise for the Testing Issues Manager as an when it requires (Industry forum)
Support training needs for Application Lifestyle Management (ALM) users.
Identify where there is a confidentiality, security, or commercial risk to the Business or any of its stakeholders, and raise to the Testing Issues Manager
Assure that the Service Providers and Testing Participants are following the Testing Issue Resolution Process, providing expertise and direction as necessary
Report to Management on the progress of Testing Issues and referred Testing Issues
Collaborate with and jointly agree relevant knowledge transfer to the Test Assurance and Operational teams as required
Raise exceptions and high impacting, high likelihood risk/issues to the Testing Issues Manager within a timely mannerWhat we're looking for

Proven testing experience in a lead test analyst or test lead role.
Proven experience in a defect management role.
Ability to work with autonomously or self-managed work loads
Adherence to accredited standards and processes
Excellent communication skills – verbal and written
Provide assurance and oversight of defect resolution on defect review meetings
Experience of managing stakeholders, internally and externally
Competent user with defect management tool like ALM (QC) or Jira
Competent MS Office experience especially MS Word and MS Excel
