A secondary specialist school in North Manchester is looking for a Teaching Assistant for one of their classes supporting young people aged 15-18 with ASD and ASD traits. The students have complex needs, and so are looking for someone who is able to support them whilst understanding the different needs that they have.

For this role, you should have experience in personal care as this is an essential part of the role.

You should also have a Team Teach qualification and be able to put this into practice within the classroom due to the challenging behaviours of some of the students.

The class is relatively small with 7 students and 4 members of staff, so you will usually be working in a 1:1 scenario, maximum 1:2.

You should also be able to work alongside the teacher to plan and prepare lessons and activities that are suited to the individual needs of each student and are an appropriate level of challenging.

To apply for this role, it is essential that you have previous experience as an SEN teaching assistant and have good knowledge of ASD and the different challenges this may bring.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
