This Project Manager position is flexible on location/offers working from home.

Our client is one of the world leaders in the power and energy industry. The smart infrastructure and digital grid divisions focus on sustainable technologies for metropolitan areas and their infrastructures and are an innovative supplier of solutions to meet the pressing challenges associated with measuring and managing energy use. Our client has been at the forefront of the smart energy sector in the UK for over 20 years, with their customers including energy suppliers, energy retailers, water utilities, and commercial and industrial businesses. Its service offering includes products, systems and holistic project delivery solutions, and this covers every phase of the contract lifecycle from initial design and bid stages, through to practical build, installation and ongoing maintenance.

Due to a number of recent significant long term contract framework awards, and an ongoing commitment to their continued and ambitious growth and portfolio diversification plans, our client is now seeking an experienced, passionate facilitator to work across the business to drive, manage and deliver strategic projects in a constantly changing environment.

The Role

* Ensure adequate authorisation and approvals to manage agreed project changes according to organisational standards

* Responsible for tracking project budgets, risks and issues, opportunities, team resource requirements and ensuring alignment with governance milestones

* Handle relevant project planning, programming and milestone results

* Involve the relevant partners and teams through all phases of the project lifecycle

* Coordinate and manage projects in conjunction with agreed processes and lead times

* Manage customer expectations and solve any issues that may arise

* Actively gather information from clients to help project delivery, including strategies, requirements and targets etc

* Regularly perform lessons learned exercises to provide an environment of continuous improvement

* Work with project teams to understand the impacts of changes to key deliverables and relevant priorities

* Strong and demonstrable alignment to positive values and principles

* Manage project finances

* Foster change orders with good margin contribution

The Person

* Experienced in a similar role with any of the following recognised accreditations / certifications / competencies; APMP, Prince2, PMP, PMQ or equivalent

* End to end project planning, control, delivery, management and closure

* Demonstrable experience of working within a service based environment

* Prior experience in leading projects in cross-functional environments

* Excellent communication, facilitation and presentation skills

* The ability to analyse data in a structured fashion and objectively represent the case for change or improvement

* Ability to influence and communicate productively with internal and external stakeholders

* Help to lead change and improvement across all levels of an organization

* Ability to work under tight deadlines

* Choosing the best course of action through effective decision making

* Establishing an action plan, and translating strategic priorities into operational reality

* Integrating the client’s perspective when setting priorities and taking actions

* Using effective persuasion to gain acceptance of ideas and commitment to actions
