The Role
We’re currently recruiting for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a reputable and growing business operating within the facilities management sector, based out of their Manchester office.
This is a full-time, permanent position suited to an experienced engineer with a strong background in mechanical building services design. The successful candidate will play a key role in the planning and development of mechanical systems across a variety of commercial and industrial buildings.

Responsibilities

Produce detailed mechanical designs for building services including HVAC, heating, and plumbing systems

Develop project specifications, layouts, and schematics
*
Collaborate with project managers and other design professionals to ensure project requirements are met
*
Ensure all designs are compliant with current regulations and standards
*
Provide technical support and guidance during project delivery
*
Attend internal meetings and liaise with clients and contractors as required
*
Review and improve existing design practices
Requirements
*
Minimum 3 years of experience in mechanical building services design
*
Proficient in design software such as AutoCAD and Revit (or equivalent)
*
Strong understanding of UK building regulations and compliance standards
*
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
*
Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
*
HNC/HND or degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services
*
Strong communication skills and team-oriented mindset
*
Must be based within commutable distance to Manchester and available for in-person work
