Insolvency Manager – Manchester (Hybrid)

Salary: £50,000–£65,000 + bonus + benefits (DOE)
Employment Type: Permanent, full-time

Why this firm?

Join a high-performing, people-first insolvency & restructuring practice with a brilliant reputation across the North West. The team is known for:

* Quality mandates (SME to complex multi-site administrations) and steady inbound work from long-standing referrers.

* Genuine progression with a clear path to Senior Manager/Appointment-Taker and JIEB sponsorship if desired.

* Supportive culture—no “faceless factory floor.” You’ll have Partner access, real autonomy, and the tools to do your best work.

* Modern ways of working—hybrid set-up, sensible caseloads, and investment in tech and training.

The role

You’ll manage a varied corporate caseload (with some personal insolvency oversight as needed), leading a small team and acting as a trusted point of contact to directors, creditors and stakeholders. Typical work includes:

Case Management & Delivery

* Take cases cradle-to-grave across Administrations, CVLs/MVLs, CVAs (occasional BK/IVA oversight).

* Scope, plan and drive case milestones, ensuring compliance with SIP 2/9/16, AML and all statutory requirements.

* Prepare key documents: proposals, progress reports, D returns, s.100 docs, statements of affairs, deficiency accounts, decision procedures and closure packs.

* Oversee asset realisations, investigations, antecedent transaction reviews and creditor distributions.

Stakeholder & Advisory

* Lead meetings with directors, lenders, landlords and trade creditors; handle complex creditor queries and voting/decision procedures.

* Provide commercial, solutions-focused advice pre-appointment (options reviews, contingency planning, timeline mapping).

Team Leadership & Quality

* Coach, review and upskill Administrators/Senior Administrators; allocate workloads, set priorities and raise delivery standards.

* Maintain audit-ready files in IPS/Turnkey (or similar), with first-time-right documentation and robust risk control.

* Work closely with the IP/Partner on strategy, fee budgets/WIP and recovery plans.

What makes it fantastic

* Impact & visibility: You won’t get lost in a huge hierarchy, your work is seen, valued and career-accelerating.

* Complex, interesting work: Mix of trading and non-trading administrations, accelerated M&A elements and real problem-solving.

* Growth runway: Fast-track progression, Appointment-Taker exposure, referrer networking and business-development mentoring.

* Balanced culture: Hybrid working, sensible targets, funded CPD/JIEB, wellness initiatives and proper tech that speeds you up, not slows you down.

About you

* Experienced Insolvency professional with solid corporate case management (administrations and CVLs essential).

* Comfortable leading cases end-to-end and reviewing work of others; confident in stakeholder comms.

* Up-to-date knowledge of UK insolvency legislation and SIPs; strong drafting and file management.

* Proficient with IPS/Turnkey (or equivalent) and Excel; commercially minded with sound judgement.

* CPI and/or JIEB advantageous (or a desire to complete—study support available).

* Competitive salary + performance bonus

* Hybrid working (Manchester city-centre office)

* 25 days holiday + bank holidays (option to buy more)

* JIEB/CPI funding & paid study leave

* Private healthcare & wellbeing support

* Enhanced pension and life assurance
