Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 (KS1 and KS2)

Reception – Year 6

Bolton, Manchester

£75 – £90 per day

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications 

Contract Dates –

If successful, the role willcommence in Immediately and with the potential to extend beyond July.

The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position is to hold a Level 4 + Higher Level Teaching Assistant Certificate or equivalent qualification in Education. (ECTS/Teachers are welcome to apply)

The role 
As a HLTA you should be highly skilled and have good knowledge of specific aspects of the curriculum. You will be responsible for providing a high level of support to the class, as both a general TA and covering the lesson in the absence of the teacher.

Being flexible and adaptable in your work, it is expected that you would feel comfortable working across the KS1 and KS2. Not only should you be confident working 1:1 and in small groups but you will also play a vital role in ensuring that the pupils comprehensively understand the work set. Other responsibilities may include covering classes, and planning and teaching your own lessons.

This school situated in Bolton is seeking to appoint a HLTA. This school is now an academy that is two-form entry, holding around 450 students. Having such a small community, they expect the successful candidate to effortlessly join their school team and the wider school community. To be considered for the Higher-Level Teaching Assistant position, you will need as a minimum: 

Can provide observation, assessment and be able to feedback to Class Teacher.
Hold a Level 4+ in either Higher Level Teaching Assistant Certificate or Education related qualification
Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching and Learning certificate
Have experience of the national curriculum, phonics, and an educational setting.
Be flexible and creative when supporting teaching.
