We are recruiting for a Food Technology Teacher to start in September 2022 on a full time & long term basis at a secondary special needs school in the Salford area for young people aged 11-16 with Autism, MLD, SEMH & other needs including speech & language or sensory needs.

Pay up to £170/day depending on experience. Could turn permanent for the right person. Hours are 8:30am – 3:30pm each day.

You will be teaching Food Technology, Nutrition & Health across KS3 & 4 in small groups of no more than 10 pupils, with TA support. They are looking for someone who can provide innovative & fun lessons to meet the needs of their pupils. The teacher will need the ability to differentiate and manage a variety of needs, levels and behaviours.

The school is rated Outstanding in all areas by Ofsted and has an excellent reputation in Salford and other Greater Manchester areas too. They have a well organised, approachable, supportive, fair, inclusive and high performing management and staff team. They are very child centred and have their students best interests at the heart of every decision and process.

Pupils all have an EHCP for special needs including Autism, SEMH, MLD & other Complex Needs so the successful teacher will need to be empathetic, patient, resilient, determined, inclusive and have the ability to differentiate their lessons and activities.

To join us and be successful in this Food Technology Teacher role, you will need to:

QTS, QTLS or other relevant teaching qualification.
Have an enhanced DBS Disclosure (or be happy to apply for a new one), Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional references checks.
Provide a CV with at least 10 years employment/education history included and any employment breaks must be explained.
Have the legal right to work in the UK.
